PRCC is excited to launch our Indigenous Canoe program. The program builds a team of Indigenous participants to paddle the C-15 (15 person canoe) with some training on C-4 (4 person canoe). The C-15 demonstrates power & teamwork and is unique to Canadian sport.

Practices will run Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

Individuals who register are expected to come to scheduled training sessions and participate in regattas. The program is designed to build team spirit and develop paddling skills in an atmosphere of fun! This program is specific to Indigenous only participants. PRCC is working with an Indigenous paddler from the Aboriginal Sport & Wellness Council of Ontario to assist with this program.

We will be competing in the following regattas:

• Western Ontario Division Championships (WODs): Welland Ontario, July 28-29
• Ontario Championships: Welland Ontario August 18-19
• National Championships: Sherbrook Quebec August 28 – September 1

(Actual competition days to be determined)

Participants pay $10 for the program which runs from June 4 to the end of the August. Fees will be collected at practice. PRCC is seeking sponsorship to pay for the program.

Participants are required to provide 10 hours of volunteer time. We do not require you to submit a volunteer cheque.
