This is a sprint program for youth aged 15 and older at all levels of experience. There is a very exciting racing component to this program that the kids love. The paddling part of the program runs from our Frenchman’s Bay site in Pickering and the gym portion is at The Shed in Pickering. See our website for directions. The Sprint Racing 15 Up program has three parts:

The program is based on Canoe Kayak Canada’s (CKC) model for Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD). The program’s main goals are to provide:
SESSIONS AND COST Summer session runs from April 13 to August 31, 2019.
A sibling can be registered for $745. The sibling discount is awarded at the same time for each child in the family after the first child is registered in the higher price program. Contact [email protected] for the sibling discount code after registering your first child. Fees include equipment and all regattas except National Time Trials, Ontario Time Trials, and Canadian Championships which will be paid separately. Participants, along with parents or guardians, become members of Pickering Rouge Canoe Club (PRCC) for the year of registration. VOLUNTEER HOURS On the first day of the program, please bring your email confirmation and a volunteer cheque for $100 per child, postdated to October 27, 2019. The cheque is cashed only if you do not complete 10 or more hours of volunteer work (per child). PRCC is run by volunteers. By pitching in, you will help us continue to offer high quality programs at a reasonable price, and you’ll have fun by engaging with other members at the same time. Family and friends can also volunteer and their time will count towards your volunteer hours. For volunteer opportunities, see our website under “Jobs and Volunteering”. REGISTRATION Only parents, legal guardians or persons 18 years of age or older can register participants for this program. If you are not at least 18 years old, a parent or guardian will need to complete the registration.
REFUND POLICY All registrations are non-transferable. All refunds may be subject to a $35.00 administration fee. Any refund will take approximately 2-4 weeks to complete.
A full refund of your membership will be granted if an e-mailed request to [email protected] is received within 24 hours of registering or more than one month remains before the start of the program. Memberships are active from the start of the program. They become non-active at the end of the season or upon our receipt of your application for refund. Refunds after the start of the program will only be considered for medical reasons with proper medical documentation. Non-use is not a reason for refund of membership. Refunds are not given for inclement weather. PRCC reserves the right to change schedules, coaches or practices as needed without compensation or notice. |
