2020 Half Training

PRCC will be operating all programs in full compliance with Ministry of Health requirements. See our COVID-19 Response page for more information. We have made many changes to our programs and procedures to keep participants and staff safe.

The Half Training sprint canoe kayak program is designed for experienced paddlers aged 15 and older with aspirations of training competitively and making the national team.

Participants must have their own paddle and lifejacket. Proof of Red Cross Level 6 swimming or higher must be provided to Rebecca before getting on the water.

The program is based on Canoe Kayak Canada’s (CKC) model for Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD). The program’s main goals are to provide:
- A fun and safe environment for all participating athletes
- Opportunities for athletes to train and compete in a variety of team (crew) and individual boats (singles)
- Aerobic and speed training on and off the water
- Opportunities for participants to compete divisionally, provincially and nationally

SESSIONS AND COST

Summer session runs from June 10 to August 28, 2020
Cost is $450 including all taxes and fees.

All athletes must read and sign off that they have read the PRCC concussion code of conduct. See our page on Rowan's Law for full information.

Participants, along with parents or guardians if the participant is under 18, become members of Pickering Rouge Canoe Club (PRCC) for the year of registration.

REGISTRATION

Only parents, legal guardians or persons 18 years of age or older can register participants for this program. If you are not at least 18 years old, a parent or guardian will need to complete the registration.

After selecting "Register" you will be required to CREATE AN ACCOUNT with Sportical if you do not already have one.

Payment is by credit card or eTransfer.

REFUND POLICY:

All registrations are non-transferable. All refunds may be subject to a $35.00 administration fee. Any refund will take approximately 2-4 weeks to complete.
75% refund if notified at least 1 month before start date.
50% refund with 2 weeks’ notice of start date.
25% refund with 1 week of start date.

A full refund of your membership will be granted if an e-mailed request to [email protected] is received within 24 hours of registering or more than one month remains before the start of the program. Memberships are active from the start of the program. They become non-active at the end of the season or upon our receipt of your application for refund. Refunds after the start of the program will only be considered for medical reasons with proper medical documentation. Non-use is not a reason for refund of membership. Refunds are not given for inclement weather.

PRCC reserves the right to change schedules, coaches or practices as needed without compensation or notice.
