2021 All-Abilities - Sundays

PRCC will be operating all our programs in full compliance with Ministry of Health requirements. See our COVID-19 Response page for more information. We have made many changes to our programs and procedures to keep participants and staff safe.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR OWN LIFEJACKETS AS PART OF OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE PROCEDURES. If we are required to cancel the session in which you are registered, full refunds (prorated if mid-session) will be issued.

All-Abilities is a program for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Participants paddle various water crafts such as recreational canoes and kayaks, and sprint race kayaks. All-Abilities provides a safe and inclusive environment where each participant can build skills and confidence on the water at their own pace. The focus is on having fun and being safe! The program includes a safety orientation and instruction by experienced coaches. Each paddler spends time on the water with a paddling partner for 3:1 support. This program is ideal for ages 10 and older, but younger children may be accepted at the discretion of the All-Abilities Coach. Participants may be divided into two groups – recreation or development. The development group has greater focus on skill improvement. Both recreational and development participants can race at regattas, competing against other All-Abilities athletes if they wish. Please refer to the calendar on our website for regatta dates.

SESSIONS AND COST

Program runs from July 4th to August 29th, 2021 on Sunday mornings from 9:00 - 11:00 for a total of 8 sessions.  There will be no session on August 1st due to the long weekend.

The cost is $135.00 including all taxes and fees.  Fees include equipment and all regattas. Participants of All-Abilities, along with parents or guardians, become members of Pickering Rouge Canoe Club (PRCC) for the year of registration.

VOLUNTEER HOURS

It is not a requirement for All-Abilities participants and families to do extra volunteer work for PRCC since we recognize that families are usually involved in the program itself. However, we are always looking for volunteers to assist with PRCC activities and welcome your involvement. REGISTRATION

Only parents, legal guardians or persons 18 years of age or older can register participants for this program. If you are not at least 18 years old, a parent or guardian will need to complete the registration. After selecting "Register" you will be required to CREATE AN ACCOUNT with Sportical if you don’t already have one. Payment is by credit card or PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by credit card inside the PayPal system. On the first day of your program, please bring your email confirmation and the waiver that will be emailed to you.

REFUND POLICY

All registrations are non-transferable. All refunds may be subject to a $35.00 administration fee. Any refund will take approximately 2-4 weeks to complete. 75% refund if notified at least 1 month before start date. 50% refund with 2 weeks’ notice of start date. 25% refund with 1 week of start date. A full refund of your membership will be granted if an e-mailed request to [email protected] is received within 24 hours of registering or more than one month remains before the start of the program. Memberships are active from the start of the program. They become non-active at the end of the season or upon our receipt of your application for refund. Refunds after the start of the program will only be considered for medical reasons with proper medical documentation. Non-use is not a reason for refund of membership. Refunds are not given for inclement weather. PRCC reserves the right to change schedules, coaches or practices as needed without compensation or notice.
